As Chief Financial Officer, Chad Bakken has overseen all accounting and finance functions across the HEI Civil Enterprise since his promotion to CFO in early 2020. He first joined HEI as Controller in 2019, bringing over 25 years of experience in the construction, homebuilding, and manufacturing industries, including 14 years with Richmond American Homes and Oakwood Homes. Chad’s expertise and leadership have supported the company’s financial strength and growth.
Chad credits the advancement of his career to the dedication and success of his teams. He believes that mentoring and empowering colleagues lead to exceeding expectations, meeting deadlines, and delivering accurate financial reporting. Chad holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder and is an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and a member of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Financial Issues Forum.
Outside of work, he enjoys the Colorado sunshine, golfing, cycling, playing basketball, and weightlifting with his wife and two sons. Supporting his sons’ athletic events is one of his favorite pastimes.
