Brian Waters serves as General Counsel of HEI Civil, applying his extensive legal and financial expertise to oversee risk management, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and all other legal aspects of the HEI Civil enterprise.
Brian applies his legal and financial knowledge to oversee risk, contracts, M&A transactions and to provide advice with respect to all other legal aspects of the enterprise. He worked as an insurance defense litigator (with an emphasis in construction defect litigation) for nearly 25 years before joining HEI Civil. Brian’s experience includes state and federal trial work, as well as oral argument at the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court. Throughout college, Brian worked as a construction laborer, where he used sledgehammers, jackhammers, trowels, and other construction tools and equipment. Then, he used his finance degree to work as a financial analyst for Coldwell Banker Residential Group before attending law school at Wake Forest. Brian used to get involved when disputes were so broken that lawsuits were filed, but now he enjoys helping to mitigate conflict long before lawsuits are contemplated.
