Bridge widening and interchange construction to support East Aurora's growth

This transformative bridge project in East Aurora more than doubled capacity by widening the structure from 58 feet to 136 feet, supported by a robust deep foundation system of drilled shafts and driven H-pile. Utilizing precast concrete girders and deck panels, the team expedited installation while ensuring long-term durability, all while enhancing aesthetics and connectivity with custom barriers, new ramps, and extended infrastructure.

This project was designed to improve capacity, safety, and reliability in a rapidly growing area, playing a key role in supporting East Aurora’s expansion. By prioritizing sustainability and durability in materials and construction methods, the team delivered a high-quality solution while minimizing public disruption through extensive stakeholder coordination. Bid at 70% design, the project benefited from collaborative scope refinement during preconstruction and was completed on budget and within the original 520-day schedule.
